Paying an Invoice
When someone sends you an invoice through Oncade, you receive an email with a link to a hosted invoice page. This guide explains what you see there and how you can pay.
The invoice page
The invoice page shows the sender's business details, the line items, fees, tax, total, and the due date. The link is unique to your invoice. Anyone with the link can view and pay the invoice, so treat the link like the invoice itself.
Ways to pay
| Method | Account needed? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer | Sometimes | Pay from your bank with the transfer details shown on the invoice page. The available transfer types (ACH, wire, SEPA, Pix, and more) depend on your region. Some have per-transfer limits. When the sender takes payments into its own bank account, you sign in with your email first to see its details, and the sender can see that you asked for them. |
| Oncade balance | Yes | Sign in and pay instantly from your own balance. The payment settles to the sender immediately. |
After you pay
Oncade matches a bank transfer to the invoice automatically when the transfer arrives. This takes from minutes to a few business days, depending on the transfer type. The invoice page updates to paid. Both you and the sender receive confirmation. If your business also uses Oncade, the invoice appears in your received invoices with its payment recorded.
If something goes wrong
- The transfer amount must match the invoice total. Partial or combined transfers may not match automatically and can delay confirmation.
- The page asks you to send an exact amount. Some bank accounts have no reference field, so the payment is matched by its amount. Send exactly the amount shown. If another payment for the same amount is already pending to the sender, the page asks you to try again later.
- The link stopped working. The sender may have cancelled or replaced the invoice. Contact them for a new link.
- You paid but the invoice still shows unpaid. Bank transfers can take a few business days to arrive. If it has been longer, reply to the invoice email so the sender can check on it.
