Invoicing
Invoices let you request payment from anyone by email. The recipient gets a link to a hosted invoice page. They can pay by bank transfer or from their own Oncade account. A bank transfer into your business's own receiving account needs the payer to sign in first.
Creating an invoice
From Get paid → Invoices, create an invoice with:
- Line items with quantities and unit prices
- Fees and tax as separate lines on the total
- A due date, which drives overdue tracking and the aging report
- The recipient, an email address or another Oncade business
When you send the invoice, Oncade emails the recipient a payment link. Track each invoice's status from the list. The sidebar badge shows your unpaid sent and received counts.
Invoice lifecycle
| Stage | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Created but not sent. You can still edit everything |
| Sent | Oncade emailed the recipient a payment link |
| Paid | The payment arrived and settled to your balance |
| Overdue | Past its due date without payment. You can send reminders |
| Cancelled | Withdrawn. The payment link no longer accepts payment |
Who asked for your bank details
When your business has a receiving account set up for invoice payments, a payer must sign in before the invoice page shows that account's bank details. Each time a payer gets the details, the invoice shows it: “Bank details requested by <email> on <date>”.
Invoices you receive
Invoices that other businesses send to you appear next to the ones you send. One page covers both sides of your billing. Invoices addressed to your business go to the email addresses in your invoice settings. If none are set, they go to the business owner's email.
Personal invoices
You can also send invoices as an individual, without a business, from the personal invoices page. Personal invoices work the same way. They settle to your personal balance instead of a business balance.
Templates and recurring billing
Invoice Templates save the recipient, line items, and terms for reuse. Repeat billing then takes one click instead of re-entry. Create a template from an existing invoice or from scratch.
Aging report
The Aging Report groups unpaid receivables by how long they have been outstanding. This shows you at a glance who to chase. When overdue receivables are the most urgent open item, the dashboard shows them in a banner at the top.
